Terjit Oasis
Terjit is both an oasis stage on Sahara Nomads 4x4 routes and the destination of a nine-day camel-supported walking journey from Chinguetti.
An oasis within the Adrar route
The Adrar Seven reaches Terjit between the White Valley and the oasis route toward Chinguetti. Longer overland expeditions also use it as a transition between the Tagant, palm valleys and the historic Adrar cities.
The oasis provides a distinct pause within journeys otherwise shaped by open tracks, stone and sand.
Walking from Chinguetti to Terjit
Caravan to Terjit changes the way travelers reach the oasis. Camels carry luggage, bivouac equipment and provisions while the group walks through Gueila, Erg Lemghaleg, Oued Dakhlet, plateaus and oasis valleys.
This itinerary is designed for travelers comfortable with consecutive trekking days and remote bivouacs. Suitability is discussed before the journey is confirmed.
