1. About Five Stars Travel Agency and these terms
Five Stars Travel Agency is a Mauritanian travel and tourism agency based in Atar, Adrar, Mauritania and founded in 2024. We operate Sahara Nomads and specialize in journeys, tours and authentic adventures throughout Mauritania, combining desert landscapes, culture, heritage, nature and meaningful local encounters.
Our purpose is to help travelers discover an authentic Mauritania beyond ordinary routes. We prioritize quality, safety, flexibility, professional support, respect for local communities and protection of the environment. Our mission is to promote responsible and sustainable tourism, celebrate Mauritania’s natural and cultural heritage and create memorable human experiences.
These Terms and Conditions apply to travel services requested or booked through Sahara Nomads and provided by Five Stars Travel Agency. By asking us to confirm a journey, the lead traveler confirms that they have read these terms and are authorized to accept them for every traveler included in the booking.
Nothing in these terms removes any right that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer law.
2. Booking and confirmation
Submitting an enquiry or booking form does not by itself create a confirmed booking. A booking becomes binding only when we send written confirmation and receive the deposit stated in the quotation.
The lead traveler is responsible for checking names, dates, itinerary, group size, services and prices in the confirmation and for promptly reporting any error. Travelers must be at least 18 years old to make a booking.
3. Prices and payment
Unless the written quotation states otherwise:
- prices are quoted in euros (EUR);
- a deposit equal to 30% of the confirmed journey price is required to secure the booking; and
- the remaining balance is due 30 days before departure.
These payment dates and percentages are our standard terms. A customer's signed contract, written quotation or confirmation may set different deposit, balance or payment terms for that specific booking. Where it does, the booking-specific written terms apply.
Bookings made within 30 days of departure normally require full payment when confirmed. Bank, card, transfer and currency-conversion fees charged by a payment provider or bank are the traveler’s responsibility.
A quotation is valid only for the period stated in it. Before full payment, we may revise a quotation when group size, itinerary, exchange rates, taxes, permits or supplier prices materially change. We will explain any revision before asking the traveler to accept it.
4. Our services, destinations and what is included

The availability and exact content of every journey depend on season, route conditions and the written proposal. Only services expressly listed in the written itinerary or confirmation are included. International flights, visas, insurance, vaccinations, personal expenses, tips and services not expressly listed are excluded unless the confirmation says otherwise.
5. Traveler responsibilities
Each traveler is responsible for:
- a valid passport, visas, permits and entry requirements;
- obtaining appropriate medical and travel advice;
- comprehensive travel insurance covering medical treatment, evacuation, cancellation and the planned activities;
- accurately disclosing relevant mobility, dietary, medical or accessibility needs before confirmation;
- following reasonable safety instructions from guides, drivers, accommodation providers and authorities; and
- respecting local communities, culture, wildlife and the environment.
We may refuse or end a traveler’s participation when their conduct creates a serious safety risk, unlawfully disrupts the journey or materially affects other travelers. Reasonable costs caused by that conduct remain the traveler’s responsibility.
6. Itineraries and travel conditions
Travel in Mauritania may be affected by weather, road conditions, permits, security advice, local events, supplier availability and transport operations. Train times, wildlife sightings, desert routes and coastal access cannot be guaranteed.
We may make reasonable changes that preserve the overall character and value of the journey. When a significant change is required before departure, we will explain the available alternative, credit or refund options, subject to recoverable supplier costs and mandatory legal rights.
7. Local suppliers
Hotels, camps, drivers, guides, transport operators and activity providers may be independent suppliers. We select and coordinate suppliers with reasonable care, but their services may also be subject to their own lawful terms and operational limits.
8. Changes and cancellations by the traveler
Requests must be sent to info@saharanomads.com. Date, traveler and itinerary changes depend on availability and may involve supplier costs or a revised price.
The separate Cancellation Policy forms part of these terms and explains the standard cancellation charges and refund process.
9. Changes, cancellation and force majeure by us
We may suspend, change or cancel services when reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance, serious supplier failure or events beyond reasonable control. These events may include severe weather, natural disaster, epidemic, border closure, governmental action, civil disturbance, transport interruption or similar circumstances.
If we cancel a journey before departure for reasons within our control, we will offer a reasonable alternative, credit or refund of the affected services. For events beyond our control, refunds are limited to amounts that we hold or can reasonably recover from suppliers, without limiting mandatory legal rights.
10. Liability
We are responsible for providing the confirmed services with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss caused by a traveler’s acts or omissions, an unrelated third party, inaccurate information supplied by the traveler, or events that could not reasonably have been avoided.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any liability that cannot legally be limited. Travelers should promptly notify us of a problem so that we have a reasonable opportunity to assist.
11. Complaints
Raise problems with the guide or our team as soon as possible during the journey. If the issue is not resolved, email info@saharanomads.com with the booking reference and relevant details within 30 days after the journey ends. We will review the complaint and respond within a reasonable period.
12. Privacy and intellectual property
Personal information is handled according to our Privacy Policy. Website text, branding, photography and other original material may not be copied or commercially reused without permission, except where law permits.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in Mauritania. The parties should first attempt to resolve a dispute directly and in good faith. If that is unsuccessful, a dispute may be submitted to a competent Mauritanian authority or court, subject to any mandatory consumer right to use another forum.
