Richat Structure
The Richat Structure is one of the dramatic geological stages on Sahara Nomads journeys through the eastern Adrar. It is often searched as the Eye of the Sahara and is reached within routes that also include Ouadane and Chinguetti.
How the Richat Structure fits the route
The Richat is not treated as a detached photo stop. On the Adrar Seven it forms part of the eastern loop between Chinguetti, Ouadane and Atar. Longer overland journeys reach it after crossing oasis country and historic settlements.
That route context allows travelers to experience the changing ground and scale of the Adrar before and after the geological formation.
Choosing an expedition
Travelers with a week can include the Richat in the compact Adrar route. Those looking for a wider crossing can choose a Tagant-to-Atlantic expedition or the fifteen-day Grand Traverse.
Exact access and timing remain subject to track, weather and operational conditions. Sahara Nomads confirms the workable route before departure.
